It’s not to early to start your Christmas wish list. If a new sewing machine is on it, then we have a treat for you.

3 Hens is hosting the local sewing machine dealers during October, a perfect time for you to “test drive” the new machines. Are you thinking about a machine with a wider throat, more built in stitches, automatic foot and needle lift, auto thread cutter, or an embroidery machine?

Each dealer will bring 3 or 4 machines of each brand they sell. The dealers can offer layaway, trade-ins and some brands offer special financing with zero interest.

The shop will have refreshments for you to enjoy. Join us for a fun experience.

We had so much fun today going to Choice fabrics.  So many fabrics!    It was hard choosing which ones were coming home with us.

After much deliberation, we made our decision, said ‘catch you next time’ to the ones left behind and headed back to the nest with our car full.

Our new treasures will be on the shelves Monday so stop by and see what we found.

Good Morning Quilters!  Nothing is better than a cool morning, a hot cup of coffee and the sound of  birds waking up. Life is so busy, sometimes we just need to stop and enjoy the small things.  We need to make the time to do what we love. For me that is sewing! It is my therapy. I love finding the pattern, pulling colors together, cutting fabric, sewing, ironing, trimming, quilting, binding ….. I love every step of creating a quilt.

Here’s my latest quilt. It is my hubby’s favorite .. so far.Well, it’s time to get ready for work. Stop by and say Hi.  Check out the new fabric..maybe you’ll find the perfect one for your next project .

If you are interested in working on a Quilt of Valor, quilts for hospitalized children, premature babies, placemats for Meals on Wheels or any other charity, this time is open for you.  Bring your enthusiasm to create something wonderful that will bring a smile and joy to another’s life.  See you Monday’s!!!

NO TWO QUILTS LOOK ALIKE!! I don’t know about you, but I love making quilts that look really complicate…my secret…NEVER make it complicated!! This quilt is very easy and is unique to each individual.

SEWING BASICS for the Quilter

Have you ever wanted to learn the art of Quilting? We have a class for you! This four class series will teach you the fundamental basics – from learning how to use a rotary cutter, mat, & ruler, to sewing accurate 1/4” seams. You will also learn about selecting projects, choosing fabrics, color power and piecing blocks. When you are finished this class you will have a beautiful table runner (like the one in picture) and knowledge of the four quilting blocks!

Instructor: Jeanette Beamer
Date: Friday – Sept. 15th & 29th, Oct. 13th & 27th
Time: 10 AM – 2 PM Class Fee: $45.00 (includes four classes)

Drop by the shop and vote for your favorite project made with a Christmas panel. Our customers have stepped up and submitted some beautiful projects in answer to our Christmas Panel Challenge.

Are you a History buff? Do you love Sampler Quilts? Then you will love the new class we have planned for you! The class will be based on the book, The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt by Laurie Hird. The book features Letters from farm wives of the 1920’s and the quilt blocks (111 in all) that were inspired by these women. The class will be a “block of the month” and meet once a month. Instead of learning a single block each month you will learn four new 6” x 6” blocks. Just because these blocks were created with Reproduction fabrics, doesn’t mean you couldn’t make it your own by using brights, batiks or even modern fabrics. The first class features the four blocks shown above. Even if you are not interested in making all of the blocks, the history behind each block is fascinating!

Instructor: Jeanette Beamer
Date: Friday – October 20th (and each Third Friday of the Month)
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Class Fee: $20 / per month
